Family Package tour for Tirthan Valley
(2 Nights and 3 Days)
Day 1
Arrive at Kullu. Drive down to the riverside rest house. After acclimatization and fresh up visit Water Fall 2 Kms from the Resorts and half an hour Climbing. A beautiful site for bathing and enjoying. Return to the rest house for lunchtime after that playing outdoor games like badminton and volleyball. A few team building games in the night (example: treasure hunt), this will be followed by dinner. O/N stay rest house.
Day 2
Easy to moderate trek visiting the Tirthan River and valley to the entry point of the great Himalayan national park. Activities like rock climbing and rappelling are to be held after lunch. In the evening after tea go for nature walk and photography. O/N at sai ropa tourist centre.
Day 3
Visit the Gushaini Temple and village - 3 Km road walk to Gushaini 15 minutes mountainside climb to the Gara Durga temple at Bandal. Packed lunch for the trackers. O/N at riverside rest house after dinner Camp Fire/Cultural Program to be held at night.
Return to Kullu next day.
Students Tour Package for Tirthan Valley
(2 Night and 3 Days)
Day 1
Arrive at Kullu. Drive down to the Sairopa tourist centre.
Early morning drive from Kullu to the Sairopa tourist centre. After a welcome drink, acclimatization and lunch local sightseeing and a visit to the banks of the Tirthan River will follow. Return to the Centre for evening tea, a bonfire and a few team building games in the night (example: treasure hunt), this will be followed by dinner. Overnight stay at the Tourist Centre.
Day 2
Trek from Gushaini Village (1500m) to Rola (2100m)
Distance covered: 9 Kms
Easy to moderate trek visiting the Tirthan River and valley to the entry point of the great Himalayan national park. Activities like rock climbing and rappelling are to be held after lunch. Dinner will be served under the stars and camp overnight in the wilderness.
Day 3
Visit to the Gushaini Temple and village - 3 Km road walk to Gushaini 15 minutes mountainside climb to the Gara Durga temple at Bandal. Packed lunch for the trackers. O/N at river side rest house after dinner Camp Fire/Cultural Program to be held at night.
Students Tour Package for Tirthan valley for Trek to Shilt Hut
(2 Night and 3 Days)
Day 1
Arrive at Kullu. Drive down to Sairopa Tourist center fresh up, have break first and Excursion trek to Rola (Trek to ROLA: Rola at the height of 6800 feet offers Striking views of Great Himalayan National Park. It offers an easy to moderate Trekking experience) Continue Trek to Rola. Picnic Lunch on the way. Afternoon: Arrival at ROLA (8 km walk into jungle) Activities: Tent pitching /Rock Climbing & Forest Exploration & Wildlife watching session (The birds of GHNP are an important part of the Park's biological diversity and an attraction for bird watchers. The Park falls within one of the globally important Endemic Bird Areas identified by the ICDP Biodiversity Project.) Camp Fire with staff dance.
Day 2
Rolla to Shilt Rolla to Shilt 2040 m - Shilt, 2900 m – 06 Kms - Today we commence on a short but very steep trek to reach Shilt, through coniferous and broad-leafed forests with occasional meadows. This dense jungle is home to the Monal flying beautifully out of the trees. Birds to watch out for at Shilt include Lammergeyers, Golden Eagles, and Himalayan Griffons. Shilt is a grassy meadow surrounded by trees and rhododendron with a beautiful view across the valley towards the snow-covered mountains reaching highs of 4000 meters. Evening wander around Shilt to look for pheasants including the Western Tragopan. This elusive species prefers to rest in an inaccessible spot in thick dwarf bamboo in steep ravines. One also goes along a ridge through bamboo and forests. Birds to watch for include Monals, Collared and Spot-winged Grosbeaks, Plain Mountain -finches, Red-Eared Buntings and several

Return from Shilt to Sairopa Tourist Centre.
After lunch, drive back to Kullu.

(3 Night and 4 Days)
Day 1
Arrive at Kullu in the morning. Drive down to Sai Ropa tourist center.
Day 2
Visit to the Sai Ropa Forest Orientation Centre and a walk on the Nature Trail if you are lucky to induce a forest guard to take you around 2 Km from the Trout House. Come back for lunch after that activities like rock climbing, river crossing, rappelling has to be done. O/N at tourist centre Dinner will be served under the stars.
Day 3
Visit to the Shalogi / Shanogi Mata temple on the way to Shoja one of the most picturesque villages in the area. O/N at river site rest house.
Day 4
Visit Jalori pass which is 3 Km away from Soja. Trek to Seolsar Lake 5 km trek from Jaloripass. Walk to Seolsar Lake through the forest full of oak, blue pine, spruce, Fir and Deodar. From one point you can see Seraj valley beyond at one end and outer Seraj at the other. Back to rest house after dinner Camp Fire/Cultural Program to be held at night.
Return to Kullu next day.

Distance Covered: 7 Kms of Moderate trek, Walk through dense forests, bamboo/walnut trees and medicinal herbs. Take a stop to enjoy the chhordwari waterfalls and to have lunch near the waterfall. O/N at Shilt in campsite.
Day 4
Return from Shilt Hut to Gushaini Village
Distance Covered: 30 Kms
Steep descent through dense forest. Have packed lunch on the way.
Back to Kullu in the evening.

After breakfasts go for adventure sports nearest to the rest house like rock climbing, rappelling, river crossing. Come back to the rest house for lunch rest for some time after evening tea goes for a nature walk. Dinner will be served under the stars and o/n at rest house.
Day 3
Visit for the Gushaini Temple and village - 3 Km road walk to Gushaini 15 minutes mountainside climb to the Gara Durga temple at Bandal. Packed lunch for the trackers. O/N at river side rest house.
Day 4
Gushaini-Tinder Village Loop, Distance Covered: 6 Kms (5 hrs), Easy to Moderate trek.
This trek offers an insight into the village life, its cultural aspects and a walk through forests up to Kharongcha. Each village along the trail is adorned by traditional but unique architecture. The students will have the opportunity to interact with local students, farmers and women weavers. Hikers will experience traditional villages, beautiful vistas, sacred groves and terrace agricultural fields. This will give the students an authentic understanding of the life and culture surrounding the Park. Local cultural dances can be organized in the villages on prior request giving a glimpse of cultural festivities.
Evening Film Show: A movie followed by interaction with the authorities of the Great Himalayan National Park
Day 5
Easy to moderate trek visiting the Tirthan River and valley to the entry point of the great Himalayan national park. Activities like trout fishing, photography, jungle exploring is to be held after lunch. Dinner will be served under the stars and overnight in the Sairopa tourist centre in the wilderness with camp fire/cultural program to be held at night.
Return to Kullu next day.
Nature Learning - Students
(4 Night and 5 Days)
The Forest Learning Program at GHNP seeks to introduce students to the vibrant ecosystems in of the Himalayas.
Another aim of the Forest Learning Program is to expose participants to the critical role of forests in maintaining the viability and vitality of earth as a living planet.
Day 1
Arrival at Sairopa Tourist centre. Orientation session and visit to the local nursery and Trout farm.
Orientation Session: Introduction to GHNP and issues involved in conservation through a slideshow presentation.
Bio-diversity Walk: An in-camp activity, in which participants will document, with the help of local NGO staff, the plant diversity in and around camp site as well as the commercial and medicinal uses of prominent trees and plants.
Day 2
Gushaini-Tinder Village Loop
Distance Covered: 6 Kms (5 hrs)
Easy to Moderate trek
This trek offers an insight into the village life, its cultural aspects and a walk through forests up to Kharongcha. Each village along the trail is adorned by traditional but unique architecture. The students will have the opportunity to interact with local students, farmers and women weavers. Activities like rock climbing and rappelling are available. Dinner will be served under the stars and camp overnight in the wilderness.
Evening: Astronomy Workshop after Sundown and Camp Fire/Cultural Program
Day 4
Trek from Rola to Sairopa Tourist centre.
Day 5
Activities around the tourist centre like fishing, rock climbing, rappelling and river crossing.
Return to Kullu in the evening.
Trek to Tirath
(7 Nights and 8 Days)
Day 1
The flight departs Delhi 06.50, arrive at Bhuntar 08.05. Approx 1½ hours drive from Bhuntar Airport to Sai Ropa Forest Rest House. Pre trek preparations and. approx. 1/2 hour drive from Sai Ropa (1200m) to Gushaini (1500m). The trek starts from Gushaini – a gentle 3 hour walk along the Tirthan River, through forests, past waterfalls to the first camp at Rolla (2100m). Rolla is just inside the boundary of the Great Himalayan National Park
Ropa (1500m) to Rolla (2100m): Walk through Ecozone of GHNP. Gentle gradient at the beginning of trek. Distance: 10 kms. Interactions with local villagers. Visit to hilltop shrine at Dingcha village.Distance:68 kms.
Day 2
Rolla to Nada Meadow (3300m): Strenuous climb through oak and conifer forests. Visit a prominent ‘tree god’ and shrine near Chalocha (2450 m) from where the climb starts. Possible sightings of The Himalayan Tahr or Black Bear. Nada meadow is very good place for bird watching. Distance: 12 kms. Total 7 hour journey.
Day 3
Nada Meadow to Majhoni (3800m): Steep descent through forests. Distance: 12 kms. This forest is home to the endangered king of the birds “the Western Tragopan” (In the villages close to GHNP, the local name of Western Tragopan is Jujurana. Juju means bird and rana means king, i.e. the king of the birds). There is a local legend that the “Lord” created this pheasant and all the birds in the universe donated a feather each to give it color and unparalleled beauty. The male is one of the world's most spectacular birds: black on the head, a deep crimson on face and mantle and orange on breast, the black belly and dark wings are spangled with star-like white specks. Though rare, with luck we might see them! Total time taken 5 hours.
Day 4
Majhoni – Tirath –and back to Majhoni Moderate gradient leading high above tree-line into the vast meadow of Tirath is about 6 hours. Views of magnificent mountain panoramas and the opportunity to experience the holy pilgrimage destination sacred to the villagers of Tirthan valley. Here the trail ends and we continue the steep climb up wild meadows, streams and wildflowers. Rock towers rise above the glaciers and a half dozen waterfalls ring our high camp in the emerald meadows of Saketi (4000m). Distance: 16 kms
(Extended Tour Option of moving to Saketi and climbing Yeshe Peak or Chakri Peak for the mountaineers if so the trek halts here for a three days to explore the wildlife and the surroundings. Opportunities for individuals to explore the highest reaches of the GHNP, climb, photograph,

Day 5
Majhoni to Nada As we steeply rise above the Tirthan, its white water repeatedly crashing into boulders and creating small turquoise pools along its banks. The forest towers like a protective canopy, the pine, oak and deodar crowning together. The rhododendrons spill out of their pod, their bright flaming red robbing the shimmer off the silver oak. The footfalls get muffled by the lichen that has clawed over fallen leaves and pine needles it will take 4-5 hours for walking.
Day 6
Rest day Nada
The overwhelming bigness and silence of the surrounds helps spot an amazing array of birds without much effort — Tragopan, Koklash , Bulbuls, Laughing thrushes, White eyes, Flycatchers, Warblers and more. On the rest day one can explore the amazingly virgin trails surrounding the Nada Thatch , looping over boulders, padding softly through landslides, jumping over fallen trees, going uphill and downhill, cower under the alder, circle the poplar, tunnel under the willow all to find exotic shrubs and herbs such as Daphne, Desmodium, Indigofera, Soraria and Viburnum.
Day 7
Nada to Rolla
Today is a long day and could be broken into two days. The forests are as deep with visions of the slatey-headed parakeets whoosh down the gorge waving their long yellow tails at trekkers. It’s also an occasion to walk down with fellow trekkers in the mist to see a rainbow dissolve in our souls. Some moments are better felt than seen, so be here.Distance:12 kms and time:5 hours.
Day 8
Rolla huts and onwards to Ropa Trek ends o/n Bus to Delhi or Flight next day at 08.40 from Bhuntar, arrives Delhi 10.00
Trek to Rakhundi Peak
(5 Nights 6 Days)
Day 1
Adventurous Journey : Forest learning Program & Climbing a trekking peak called Rakhundi Top
Drive to Goshaini from base Camp & start trek to Great Himalayan National Park ( Core Zone) 12 Km / 5 Hours
This leg of the program will introduce you to the core zone of the Great Himalayan National Park . We will be undertaking an adventurous journey to one of the mid altitude trekking peaks in the National Park .
Our adventurous journey will inspire the participants to attain the inner elusive peak within themselves . But it also requires exhaustive planning, specialized equipment, expertise and experience which will all be shared by the experts with the participants. Bonhomie, camaraderie, esprit de corps and team spirit is developed through this journey into the core of the World Heritage Site.
From Base Camp we will drive to Goshaini where the participants would be introduced to the trekking team. From Goshaini its an easy walk to Rolla Camp in the core zone of the Great Himalayan National Park taking about five hours from an altitude of 1500 meters to 2100 meters in 11 Km . Evening would be spent learning about camping and rock climbing. Overnight in twin sharing dome tents where Tirthan is your music for the evening and lullaby for the night.
Day 2
Trek from Rolla ( 2100 meters) to Shilt Meadow (3300m): 8 Km ( 4 Hours) Strenuous climb through oak and conifer forests. Possible sightings of Himalayan Tahr or Black Bear. Day 3
Trek from Shilt to Rakhundi Top ( 4500 meters) and back to Shilt: Today is the big day when we go in for our peak climbing along with our instructors. An early start would lead to an inexplicable view at the top which is breathtaking, with so many peaks around that they seemed to be completely filling the valley. As we offer prayers at the temple atop, the participants can get busy in identifying rare alpine herbs found only above a certain altitude.o/n Camp Shilt Time taken 12 hours
Day 4
Shilt to Rolla and SaiRopa Base Camp : A four hour long walk along a narrow trail passing through the entry gate of Great Himalayan National Park takes you to a lonely hut on the right bank of Tirthan at Rolla(2100m).From here we would trek for another hour to camp at the gate. Sing Pahari songs and enjoy your meals with bonfire... Park Gate to SaiRopa base Camp : Here we meet our vehicles which will transfer us to our base camp at Sai Ropa where we will rest and have much needed bath . After having hot lunch and hot showers we would share our experiences and there will be a slide show presentation of the entire program o/n SaiRopa Forest Center.
Day 5
Morning Early departure for Chandigarh by bus to catch the connecting flight / Train to Mumbai.
Trek to Rangthar
(2 Nights and 3 Days)
Day 1
This hike starts from a village called Pekhari (2170m) in the ecozone. The village is accessible by a jeepable road from Gushaini. From Pekhari you walk towards Lakcha (2550m), a very beautiful traditional Himalayan village where you will have your lunch. Then after one hour of steep climb through some fields and then forest, you reach a flat-topped ridge where you will set up your camp. This is Ranghthar.
Day 2
Walk back from Rangthar to river head via Talinga Shalinga and to Goshaini or directly to Goshaini !
